CH Mt. View's Calamity Jane CD RN JH NA NAJ CGC
Calamity came to us from Mt. View Brittanys of Pennsylvania. Although Amy had owned a Brittany in the past, Calamity was her first Brittany to enter serious AKC competition. Calamity has met all our expectations. Calamity is equally at home in field, show ring or house. She has an outstanding temperament and is an affectionate and loyal companion.
Calamity began her show career in Spring 2004 at 6 months of age. Her first weekend out she took Reserve Winners. She has continued her winning ways by earning Best of Breed wins, a Best in Sweeps win, a Group placement at just 12 months of age, and 3 majors! Judges have commented on her cute expression and winning attitude as well as her beautiful movement. She completed her show championship owner handled at the Seminole Kennel Club dog show on May 29, 2005, at just 19 months of age.
Calamity also excelled in her obedience work. Calamity began competing in obedience trials in Fall 2004 and, at the ripe old age of 11 months, she completed her Companion Dog (CD) title. She has also completed her Rally Novice (RN) title. Miss Jane also earned her first CDX leg in Lincoln, NE, on Oct, 6, 2007, but she has retired from competition. In the field, Calamity has a lot of style and intensity. She is a busy dog with medium range and she searches cover well. Calamity began competing in hunt tests in Fall 2004 and she earned her Junior Hunter (JH) title in four consecutive tests. Calamity also excelled in her first hunting season where she made many fantastic points and retrieves of local quail, pheasant and prairie chicken. Calamity continued to prove her versatility when she made her agility debut in April 2005 where she picked up her first qualifying NA leg and a first place win! Calamity went on to complete her NA and NAJ titles with much speed and athleticism.Calamity has produced two litters for us and is the dam of our "Prairie" and the grand dam of our "Katniss". Calamity is now retired and spends her days sleeping on the couch.
